LivingWaters Church

LivingWaters is on a dynamic journey of faith and discovery. Here you will find a group of passionate followers of Christ who believe that we need to adapt to meet the needs around us both in communication and in action. Within every man, woman and child lies an enormous potential to grow into the fullness of what God has planned for them. We desire to facilitate this growth, providing opportunities to learn, worship and serve. LivingWaters is a member of the Elim group of churches. Elim has over 500 congregations throughout the towns and cities in the UK as well as churches in forty countries around the world.

Our aim is to welcome you...

Pastor

Pastor John and his wife Michelle have served LivingWaters church for many years. John is a gifted communicator and worship leader, who uses his background in education to facilitate relevant teaching from the Bible, delivered in a purposeful and applicable way. He believes that every person has a creative part to play in taking the Church outside of its confines, giving it a voice and credibility in the community in which we live. Michelle has a passion to see the ‘family’ grow in wholeness and works closely with John to fulfil the vision of LivingWaters Church.

Worship

Each of us is designed with the ability to be creative. LivingWaters is a group of people who desire to express worship in creative and relevant ways, through media music and the arts. We are passionate about worshiping God in every aspect of our lives and making choices that bring the love of Christ into our community.

Give to the LORD the glory he deserves! Bring your offering and come to worship him. Worship the LORD in all His holy splendour.

1 Chronicles 16:29

Children

LivingWaters encourages children to discover Jesus in fresh and exciting ways. We place value on every child, seeking to continually engage them! Our Sunday programme involves ‘Kidzone’, in which children from 4-11 years of age discover the bible through a varied and energetic program. 'Tot Spot' also operates for children aged 1 and over and provides creative play time and craft, enabling parents to take a well earned break! For parents with young babies we have a fully equipped baby room with feeding facilities and full changing areas.

Youth

"Youth will be inspired..."

The youth of LivingWaters are highly involved throughout all areas of the church, helping provide excitement and energy to the life of the church. We believe that all young people have something unique to offer. Friday nights see core:youth meet for social events, bridging the gap between church and young people.

PALS (Small Groups)

Various PALS groups meet throughout the Chorley area with the purpose of:

Praying together
Applying Gods word
Living with purpose
Serving the church and the community

When people get together they ‘do life’ together! When you come to LivingWaters Church you will be directed to the café area and the ‘CONNECT’ desk where the staff will tell you more about PALS.

Mission

LivingWaters has always had, as part of its core foundations a mission to be involved in reaching people overseas with the good news of Jesus Christ. Our aim is that local leaders are equipped to help reach their own communities. We currently work in partnership with indigenous people within Liberia (church planting and day schools), and in the Philippines. There are currently over 12 Churches associated with LivingWaters Ministries India and more recently within Zambia. LivingWaters Ministries India has planted a Church in India (Kerala) and work has started on a multi-purpose building to house a Church, Medical centre and Bible school. The work in India is overseen by our full time director Rev. Allen Joseph.

Community

LivingWaters church embraces the command of Jesus to serve the local community. People within the Church are encouraged to be the ‘hands and feet’ of Jesus Christ in a hurting world. Over several years we have developed community projects which consistently touch the lives of those most in need within our locality.

Costwold House/Parker Street/The Bridge

Cotswold House is a place of refuge for broken families within Chorley. We seek to resource their work with welcome hampers to help get new residents up on their feet again. This team works in the background with the management staff of Costwold to ensure this runs smoothly. Similar projects also happen at Parker Street and the Bridge; these are centres which provide accommodation for homeless teenagers. It is our desire to show the love of Jesus to these young people through words and actions, consistently throughout the year.

Street Pastors

Street Pastors is an inter-denominational church response to urban problems providing an opportunity for the church to engage with people on the streets. It is founded by Ascension Trust and pioneered in London in 2003 by Rev Les Isaac. Its goal is to be a positive influence on the streets of Chorley on Friday and Saturday nights. Rev. Tony Lacy who is part of the leadership at LivingWaters developed the scheme in Chorley and we currently have over 20 street pastors training and working in Chorley. Street Pastors involves churches working together within the area. We have worked closely with the Police and the Council to develop the scheme.
